Success Story - Jada :

jada

Jada came in as an owner surrender.  She was 5 years old and her owners were moving into an apartment where they couldn’t keep her any more.  She was a sofa dog who was great with kids, but wound up stuck in a shelter.  She looked so sad in her run and was desperate to get out.  One of our college volunteers who was about to go to graduate school handled her one day and fell in love with her.  She handled Jada a few times for adoption events, while she was trying to figure out a way she could adopt Jada herself.  She could take Jada to her parents house for the summer, but needed to find a place where she could have Jada when school started.  Eventually she came up with an apartment near her grad school that would allow dogs that were Jada’s size.

Here is her email: “I just wanted to give you an update about Jada. Everything is going well. She’s been to the beach and plays for hours in the backyard and seems to be enjoying herself. She loves human contact and I am so happy with her company.”

Later, the apartment situation changed and she was told that Jada was too large to keep.  Undaunted, she found another apartment where she and Jada could stay.  It was a great example of someone going out of their way to help a homeless animal.  No one appreciates it more than Jada!
