Stan the MAN! He had come in with another dog and the story was that his owned was thinking about shooting him because he didn’t have time for Stan any more. Thankfully, Stan found his way to us. He was a long timer and a favorite of everyone at the shelter. No dog was calmer in his run than Stan. It actually seemed that he had adopted the shelter as his home. He loved the people and his other dog buddies and he did very well there. He did so well at the shelter, that he didn’t do well at adoption days! He acted very strangely and defensive when meeting people so he stopped going for a while. Volunteers brought him to different locations to get him used to different places and people. The work paid off and after a while, Stan was back at adoption days and acting fine. He me his adopters at Precious Pets and they took him home that day.
Here is their email: “I would like to let you know that Stan has found a good home. I know many people volunteer their time to help find abandoned and abused dogs good homes. We could not be happier with Stan and believe me he is happy too (he is pretty spoiled to say the least). We had our problems in the beginning but that is to be expected with any dog. He has gone to school and is much better and we plan on taking him back in the spring to get his canine good citizen certificate. He has brought a lot of happiness into our home and we don’t know what we would do without him! Thank you for all of your help in finding dogs a good home, I know Stan appreciates it!”
