Success Story - Marty :

Our buddy Marty came a long way!  He was incredibly shy.  He would just go to the back of his run and tremble.  His body showed signs of abuse and he was clearly scared of people, but never growled or barked.  Marty looked very sad and lonely.  Marty seemed more receptive to women, who were able to approach him.  He did well with other dogs, but people were a real challenge for him.  He had volunteers working with him at the shelter over time who made progress, but he wasn't able to be comfortable meeting new people.  Finally, a vet tech came along who was willing to take him home and give him the kind of time and attention he needed.  She reported that he goes to dog parks and travels around with her all of the time.  She has gotten him engaged in the outside world and he is coming out of his shell and gradually learning to trust people again.  Now Marty has happy playful moments that he never showed at the shelter.  The photo below shows Marty at the shelter before his adoption, back when he was afraid of the world.
